Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.2% to 641,500 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 31,291 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,793 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 630,071 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 11.3% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 160,896 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and lignite plants followed with 134,570 megawatt-hours and 131,419 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 918 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 12,347 megawatt-hours.
