Turkey's daily power consumption down 11.1% on Oct. 18

- Electricity exports amount to 9,268 megawatt-hours while imports reach 3,833 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11.1% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 677,791 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 33,119 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,552 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 683,226 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 11.6% decrease compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 37.19% of total electricity consumption on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 24.23% share while lignite plants comprised 15.47%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,268 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,833 megawatt-hours.
