Turkey's daily power consumption down 11% on Dec. 13

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 8,299 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 7,739 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 11% to 855,547 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at local time 18.00 with 40,735 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 28,700 megawatt-hours at local time 05.00.

Electricity production totaled 856,107 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.8% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from natural gas reaching 233,129 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and hydro followed with 209,614 megawatt-hours and 133,951 megawatt-hours, respectively.
