Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.09% on April 15

- Electricity exports amount to 11,263 megawatt-hours, while imports total 2,415 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.09% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 874,820 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 40,068 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,004 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 884,348 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.04% decrease from Wednesday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.36% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 21.40%, while imported coal held a 15.08% share.

On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,263 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,415 megawatt-hours.
