Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.81% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 729,842 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time, reaching 36,580 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,839 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 741,254 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.83% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 30.64% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 24.54% share while lignite plants comprised 15.07%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,176 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,764 megawatt-hours.
