Turkey's daily power consumption down 10.7% on Dec. 5

- Electricity exports amount to 10,610 megawatt-hours and imports total 12,805 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.7% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 801,050 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,117 megawatt-hours at 17.00 local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,274 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 799,371 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.6% decrease compared to Saturday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.4% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 25.4% while lignite plants comprised 15.9%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,610 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,805 megawatt-hours.
