Turkey's daily power consumption down 10.62% on Dec. 12

- Electricity exports amount to 13,828 megawatt-hours and imports total 17,085 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.62% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 802,029 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,980 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,167 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 798,972 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.72% decrease compared to Saturday.

Turkey's electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 22.3% of total electricity consumption, wind plants contributed 20.1% while natural gas plants comprised 17.4%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,828 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,085 megawatt-hours.
