Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.59% to 682,732 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 33,645 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,519 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 679,652 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 10.63% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity at 174,407 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 113,895 megawatt-hours and 113,209 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,370 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,450 megawatt-hours.
