Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 749,089 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 35,738 megawatt-hours at 20.00 local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,369 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 754,684 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.5% fall from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 35.8% of total electricity consumption, lignite plants contributed 15.2% while imported coal plants comprised 13.5%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,907 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,342 megawatt-hours.
