Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 788,969 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,969 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,408 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 791,794 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.5% decrease compared to Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from wind power plants constituted 22.6% of total electricity consumption, natural gas plants contributed 22% while imported coal plants comprised 17.7%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 13,626 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,026 megawatt-hours.
