Turkey's daily power consumption down 10.5% on Jan. 31

- Electricity exports amount to 6,947 megawatt-hours, while imports total 1,437 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 772,377 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time, reaching 36,022 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,007 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 777,923 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.5% decrease from Saturday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 23.3% share, while lignite plants comprised 14.6%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,947 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,437 megawatt-hours.
