Turkey's daily power consumption down 10.43% on Sept. 6

- Electricity exports amount to 8,166 megawatt-hours while imports reach 5,085 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.43% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 788,297 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Electricity production reached 791,378 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.40% decrease compared to the previous day.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 38,058 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,317 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 30.43% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 25.10% share while lignite power plants comprised 13.50%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,166 megawatt-hours while imports reached 5,085 megawatt-hours.
