Turkey's daily power consumption down 10.3% on Oct. 25

- Electricity exports amount to 11,979 megawatt-hours while imports reach 4,776 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.3% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 677,329 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 33,252 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,943 megawatt-hours at 09.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 684,532 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.7% decrease compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 35.29% of total electricity consumption on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 26.13% share while lignite plants comprised 16.40%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,979 megawatt-hours while imports reached 4,776 megawatt-hours.
