Turkey's daily power consumption down 10.2% on Sept. 27

- Electricity exports amount to 6,577 megawatt-hours while imports reach 5,879 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 729,254 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 35,664 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,328 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 729,953 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.3% decrease compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 30.92% of total electricity consumption on Sunday, imported coal plants held a 23.27% share while lignite plants comprised 15.72%.

On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,577 megawatt-hours while imports reached 5,879 megawatt-hours.
