Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.07% to 779,340 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 37,464 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 27,807 megawatt-hours at local time 07.00.
Electricity production totaled 770,387 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.44% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 181,802 megawatt-hours. Natural gas and hydroelectricity power plants followed with 168,824 megawatt-hours and 116,744 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,351 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,304 megawatt-hours.
