Turkey's daily power consumption down 10% on Dec. 8

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 7,091 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 10,268 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10% to 736,688 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at local time 19.00 with 35,876 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 27,011 megawatt-hours at local time 05.00.

Electricity production totaled 733,512 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported coal reaching 205,164 megawatt-hours. Natural gas and lignite followed with 182,124 megawatt-hours and 135,427 megawatt-hours, respectively.
