Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 860,756 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 40,260 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,857 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 866,958 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.85% decrease from Wednesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity power plants comprised 17.9%, while lignite plants held a 12.8% share.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,242 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 6,303 megawatt-hours.
