Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.90% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 876,750 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,496 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,018 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 882,388 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 1.25% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 36.08% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 22.53% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 16.27%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,261 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 623 megawatt-hours.
