Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.96% on Friday compared to the previous day, reaching 1,034,031 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,627 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time on Friday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 34,231 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 1,045,520 million megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a 1.24% increase from Thursday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 35.6% of total electricity consumption, wind energy plants held a 14.8% while imported coal plants comprised 14.7%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,000 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,830 megawatt-hours.
