Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.74% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 874,653 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,291 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,791 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 885,426 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.77% decrease compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 35.58% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 21.21% share while hydropower plants comprised 16.06%.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,859 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 86 megawatt-hours.
