Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.49% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 882,288 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,385 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,056 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 882,241 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.88% drop compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.2% while lignite comprised 15.4%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,426 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,659 megawatt-hours.
