Turkey's daily power consumption down 0.45% on Jan. 21

- Electricity exports amount to 4,516 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,660 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.45% on Thursday compared to the previous day to reach 952,944 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday at 10.00 local time.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 46,622 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,341 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 955,818 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.50% decrease from Wednesday.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.37% of total electricity consumption, imported power plants held a 18.6 % share, while hydropower plants comprised 16.9%.

On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,516 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,660 megawatt-hours.
