Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.3% to 658,512 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 31,691 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,788 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 664,594 megawatt-hours on Wednesday with a 0.4% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 217,972 megawatt-hours. Wind and run-of-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 123,424 megawatt-hours and 106,915 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,678 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 596 megawatt-hours.
