Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.28% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 864,542 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday at 10.00 local time.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time, reaching 40,040 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,181 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 868,772 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.42% decrease from Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from hydroelectricity power plants constituted 23.3% of total electricity consumption, natural gas plants comprised 22.9%, while run-of-the-river plants held a 13.9% share.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,498 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,459 megawatt-hours.
