Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.2% to 562,048 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 28,438 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 18,411 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 559,571 megawatt-hours on Sunday with a 0.6% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 138,379 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and imported coal plants followed with 116,268 megawatt-hours and 101,297 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 2,629 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,106 megawatt-hours.
