Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.18% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 921,802 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Electricity production reached 925,732 megawatt-hours on Wednesday marking a 0.02% decrease compared to the previous day.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 42,915 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,816 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 27.70% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, imported coal plants held a 21.56% share while hydropower plants comprised 14.91%.
On Wednesday Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,501 megawatt-hours while imports reached 572 megawatt-hours.
