Turkey's daily power consumption down 0.14% on April 1

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 5,381 megawatt-hours, while imports total 5,931 megawatt-hours on Wednesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.14% to 714,670 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 33,422 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,717 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Total electricity production reached 714,120 megawatt-hours on Wednesday with a 0.61% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 255,611 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and lignite plants followed with 114,127 megawatt-hours and 92,879 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,381 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,931 megawatt-hours.
