Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 0.04% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 877,084 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,308 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,903 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 877,264 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.14% decrease compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 43.5% of total electricity consumption and lignite plants contributed 12% while imported coal plants comprised 10.5%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,496 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,432 megawatt-hours.
