Spot market electricity prices for Thursday, Jan. 1

- Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data shows electricity market trade volume amounts to 1.60 billion Turkish liras

The highest electricity price rate for one megawatt-hour on Türkiye's day-ahead spot market for Thursday will be 3,400.00 Turkish liras at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., 9 p.m. local time (1400, 1500, 1700, 1800 GMT), according to official figures released Wednesday.

The lowest rate was set at 1,694.81 Turkish liras at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT), the data showed.

The Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data for Thursday's electricity market trade volume showed a decrease of 14.46% to around 1.60 billion Turkish liras compared to Wednesday.

The arithmetical and weighted average prices for electricity on the day-ahead spot market are calculated at 2,750.63 Turkish liras and 2,770.92 Turkish liras, respectively.

The highest electricity price on the day-ahead spot market for one megawatt-hour for Wednesday was set at 3,400.00 Turkish liras at between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. local time (0600-1100, 1400-1500 GMT), while the lowest was set at 1,800.01 Turkish liras at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT), the data showed.

US$1 equals 42.96 liras at 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT) on Wednesday.
