China's electricity consumption expands 11.6% in November

- Country's electricity consumption in Jan-Nov period this year marks 6.3% rise, reaching 8.4 trillion kilowatt-hours

China's electricity consumption recorded a month-on-month increase of 11.6% in November.

According to data from the National Energy Administration, the country’s power consumption reached 763 billion kilowatt-hours in November.

During the January to November period of 2023, the country's electricity consumption marked a rise of 6.3%, reaching 8.4 trillion kilowatt-hours.

Electricity consumption expanded by 12.2% in the primary industrial sectors that produce raw materials, such as mining, forestry and agriculture.

The secondary industrial sectors, which consist of the manufacturing sector, saw a 9.8% increase in power consumption, while the tertiary industry sectors, which include the services sector, witnessed a 20.9% increase in energy usage.

China's household electricity consumption, meanwhile, increased by 10% in November compared to the same period last year.
