Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.73% on August 3

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 5,401 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 1,995

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Monday by 2.73% compared to the previous day to reach 721,302 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 35,643 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,218 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 724,709 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 2.96% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 184,679 megawatt-hours. Natural gas plants and hydroelectricity followed with 133,328 megawatt-hours and 117,726 megawatt-hours, respectively.
