Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.4 % to 870,403 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 41,399 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,615 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 859,642 megawatt-hours on Thursday, with a 1.4% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas plants totaling 204,077 megawatt-hours.
Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 187,153 megawatt-hours and 180,155 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,993 megawatt-hours while imports totaled 14,754 megawatt-hours.
