Turkey's daily power consumption up 12.6% on Feb. 24

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 7,816 megawatt-hours, while imports total 13,522 megawatt-hours on Monday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 12.6% to 826,888 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 39,541 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 26,628 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 821,181 megawatt-hours on Monday with a 12.5% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 192,318 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 177,309 megawatt-hours and 166,527 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,816 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 13,522 megawatt-hours.
