Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased 7.80% to 575,820 megawatt-hours on Sunday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 28,633 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 19,986 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 570,163 megawatt-hours on Sunday with an 7.6% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 155,850 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river plants followed with 101,402 megawatt-hours and 91,432 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,589 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,247 megawatt-hours.
