Turkey's daily power consumption down 5.75% on Sept. 14

- Turkey's electricity exports total 4,555 megawatt-hours while imports reach 6,762 megawatt-hours on Saturday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.75% to 796.223 megawatt-hours on Saturday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 36,318 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its daily lowest point of 28,587 megawatt-hours at 07.00.

Total electricity production reached 794,015 megawatt-hours on Saturday, with a 5.95% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from imported coal plants totaling 185,460 megawatt-hours.

Hydroelectricity and natural gas plants followed with 140,984 megawatt-hours and 130,542 megawatt-hours, respectively.

Also on Saturday, Turkey’s electricity exports were at 4,555 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 6,762 megawatt-hours.
