Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.89% on Feb. 13

- Turkey's electricity exports total 6,541 megawatt-hours, while imports amount to 7,982 megawatt-hours on Thursday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.89% to 888,549 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time with 41,776 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 29,846 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 887,108 megawatt-hours on Thursday with a 1.69% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 214,095 megawatt-hours. Natural gas and imported coal followed with 210,805 megawatt-hours and 206,418 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,541 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 7,982 megawatt-hours.
