Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.88% on Jan. 10

- Turkey's electricity exports total 7,915 megawatt-hours, while imports amount to 1,723 megawatt-hours on Friday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.88% to 875,247 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 41,668 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 29,615 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 881,439 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 1.73% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from natural gas plants with 273,356 megawatt-hours.

Imported coal plants and hydroelectricity followed with 204,178 megawatt-hours and 169,696 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,915 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,723 megawatt-hours.
