Turkey's daily power consumption down 1.16% on Feb. 14

- Turkey's electricity exports total 7,342 megawatt-hours, while imports amount to 10,346 megawatt-hours on Friday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.16% to 878,253 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time with 40,705 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 29,769 megawatt-hours at 05.00.

Total electricity production reached 875,249 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 1.33% decrease compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from natural gas plants at 222,939 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and hydroelectricity followed with 207,535 megawatt-hours and 182,860 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 7,342 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,346 megawatt-hours.
