ANKARA
The Turkish economy will grow about 4 percent in 2015 and is expected to grow more in the second half of this year, Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Minister said on Wednesday.
Speaking to the Editor's Desk of The Anadolu Agency in Ankara, Isik said: “Turkey has attained a significant decline in the current account deficit in 2014, and has made serious progress in this area. When we consider all circumstances, Turkey’s reaching 3 percent growth in 2014 is very significant.”
“We have gone through the year—2014— in which two elections and the attempted coup against the government all took place. When we look at the past year in terms of domestic economic conditions, it was extremely difficult,” he said.
A draft employment package draft has been prepared by the Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Ministry, the minister also announced.
“Turkey has created 1.43 million new jobs in the last 12 months. This is equivalent to a 5.5 percent increment. No country in the world could provide this increase rate last year except for Turkey,” he said.
