China is expected to invest 80 billion Yuan (about 13 billion USD) on the exploration of petroleum and natural gas in 2013, officials have said.
China has increased these kinds of investments as the energy export of the country increased in recent years, said China's Ministry of Land and Resources.
According to the official numbers, the budget allocated for exploration of petroleum and natural gas resources was 19 billion Yuan in 2002, with this amount reaching 67.3 billion Yuan in 2011 alongside the increasing energy needs of the country.
In China, 5 billion tonnes of petroleum sources and 2.6 trillion cubic meters of natural gas were located between 2008 and 2011.
