A movie by Turkish actor-director Recep Cavdar took home Best Short Film honors at the Bristol Independent Film Festival.

Cavdar received the award for his Return from the Hunt (Av Dönüşü) at a ceremony at the Everyman Bristol Centre with the attendance of many directors, screenwriters, and artists.

Cavdar said he was proud to be able to represent Turkey abroad, as the festival gave him an opportunity to promote his film.

“I am happy if I could provide a modest contribution to Turkish cinema,” Cavdar added.

The Return from the Hunt centers on events between a hunter, Ismail, and a shepherd, Mehmet, in a small Anatolian village.

The film was shot around the southeastern Turkish city of Sanliurfa.
