The director general of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) on Monday visited the headquarters of Anadolu Agency, Turkey's premier news source.

Kiril Valchev was welcomed at the headquarters in the capital Ankara by Serdar Karagoz, Anadolu Agency’s director general, and Yusuf Ozhan, the deputy director general and editor-in-chief.

Karagoz told Valchev about Anadolu Agency's global news presence and journalistic work.

The director general of Bulgarian News Agency highlighted the importance of improving ties between the two news agencies. “We will share more news, photos, and videos,” he added.

“The agency knows the truth. Lies are everywhere ... The exchange of news between us will allow us to get to know each other better every day,” Valchev stated.

He said that the exchange of journalists for training was also discussed at the meeting, and noted that he expects cooperation on this issue to begin next year.

He underlined that Turkey and Bulgaria are two good neighbors.

Valchev noted that it was his first visit to Ankara. "I have visited Turkey many times. I love this country. I have spent a lot of time in Istanbul,” he said.

He also applauded Anadolu Agency’s hospitality.
