Anadolu Agency photographer Hisham Abu Shaqra was injured by Israeli gunfire Friday while covering clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank.
The incident took place near the northern entrance of the West Bank city of Bethlehem.
“A live bullet fired by an Israeli sniper struck my left leg, a few centimeters under the knee,” Abu Shaqra told Anadolu Agency from Beit Jala Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
In October 2015, Anadolu Agency photographer Metin Yuksel Kaya was also injured by Israeli gunfire while covering events in al-Shujaiyeh neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
