Tianwen-2 spends more than 33 days in orbit, 12M kilometers away from Earth

ISTANBUL

China National Space Administration (CNSA) shared photos on Tuesday of the moon and the Earth that were taken by the Tianwen-2 spacecraft, from an orbit of 590,000 kilometers (366,609 miles), according to a statement from the space agency.

The probe has been in orbit for more than 33 days, at an orbit 12 million kilometers from Earth.

Images of the moon and the Earth were taken on May 30 and processed after being transmitted.

The Tianwen-2 spacecraft was successfully deployed on May 29.

The Tianwen is a series of robotic interstellar exploration missions launched by the CNSA to explore the solar system.

Tianwen means "heavenly questions” or "questions to heaven."
