US State Department approves possible sale of F-404 engine fans to Spain

Proposed sale will improve Spain’s capability to meet current and future threats, says Pentagon

WASHINGTON

The US State Department made a determination approving a possible sale of F-404 engine fans and related equipment to Spain, the Pentagon said Monday.

The estimated cost is $200 million, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement.

"The proposed sale will improve Spain’s capability to meet current and future threats and will enhance interoperability with U.S. forces and other allied forces," it said.

The F-404 engine fans will be transferred from United States Navy stock, it added.
