Two riot policemen and a civilian were killed Wednesday morning in a sporadic shooting in northwestern Kaduna state, a police spokesman said.
“Yes, two of our men were killed on duty in Nasarawa area early today. A civilian was also killed while three other policemen were injured,” Yakubu Sabo, spokesman for the Kaduna police command, told Anadolu Agency by phone.
Locals said the policemen were attached to a multinational company IBBI where the shootings occurred.
“We don't know if the attackers wanted to abduct anybody or they were just armed robbers wanting to rob the firm,” Labo Abdullahi, a resident of the area, told Anadolu Agency.Anadolu Agency website contains only a portion of the news stories offered to subscribers in the AA News Broadcasting System (HAS), and in summarized form.
