Turkey is optimistic about restoring ties with France after the French presidential election.

Speaking to AA correspondent in Paris, Turkish Embassy spokesman Engin Solakoglu said that at least the current administration in France was not against Turkey.
A new page is expected to be opened in Turkey-France relations due to the new leadership of president-elect Francois Hollande and a high possibility that socialists would probably win majority in the parliament.
Solakoglu said that with the new administration in France, there was an optimistic atmosphere regarding the future of the Turkish-French ties.
During Sarkozy's presidency, opening of five chapters had been prevented, he recalled and said the current administration gave message that it would not follow Sarkozy's stance on Turkey-EU relations.
