Turkish FM congratulates Libyan party head over election victory
ANKARA (AA) - July 19, 2012 - Turkey's foreign minister has congratulated the head of Libya's National Forces Alliance over the results of last week's elections.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu congratulated Mahmoud Jibril over his party's victory in the elections, expressing his hope for a successful political process in Libya, diplomatic sources said on Thursday.
Former interim Prime Minister Jibril's National Forces Alliance got 48.8 percent of votes and won 39 seats in a nation-wide election in Libya last week. The Muslim Brotherhood's Justice & Construction Party came in second with 21.3 percent of votes, winning 17 seats in the parliament.
