Security forces killed at least 48 Daesh militants in Anbar and Ninawah provinces Friday, military officials said.
Also, Iraqi security personnel backed by international coalition forces seized the southern part of al-Karma city from Daesh in the western province of Anbar, Major-General Mohamed Khalaf, Anbar’s Iraqi military operation’s chief, told the Anadolu Agency.
“Our forces killed 23 Daesh militants and destroyed a heavily-armored vehicle,” Khalaf said.
Also, the U.S.-led coalition forces targeted 15 Daesh checkpoints early Friday in areas near Mosul in northern Iraq.
“At least 25 Daesh militants were killed in the attacks,” First Lieutenant Raed Mizouri, a Kurdish Peshmerga officer, said.
