An unidentified man opened fire with a machine gun at a nightclub in Greece's Piraeus city early Saturday that left at least 11 people injured, security officials said
The port city Piraeus is located within Athens urban area.
The unidentified armed attacker had stayed until late at the nightclub and initially appeared to have left the scene, witnesses say. However, shortly afterwards he returned with a machine gun in hand and sprayed bullets indiscriminately on the people inside, police said.
Eyewitnesses say the attacker yelled “today you will all die” before he opened fire. He later reportedly escaped from the club in a taxi.
Security officials said at least 11 wounded were still in hospital, four of whom were said to be in critical condition.
